Hardship: One For All, All For One

Why do we have hardships? How do you deal with hardships? Some try to sweep them under the rug like they don’t exist. Yet others face them head on. Hardships (or struggles) are a learning curve.

They teach you to work your way through the problem and continue forward. Hardships come in many forms: financial, mental health, political, physical, just to name a few. They can hit you like a ton of bricks or slowly build up.

They, also, can be dangerous or detrimental to your life. What we have going on in this country (or the world) is the dangerous kind. People are being subject to life threatening situations. We have to fight for one another if we are to be victorious on the other side.

What actually is the meaning of hardship? Hardship refers to a situation of suffering, difficulty, or adversity, often involving financial strain or challenging circumstances. It can also describe a specific instance or cause of such difficulty, like a fire that causes someone to lose their home,

Many people have struggles with weight loss. Why are so many people considered obese? I know, for me, it was due to medication. I gained weight and developed diabetes all due to a med.

But Big Pharma doesn’t care, they just keep pushing their drugs on you. Who cares about the side effects as long as they make money. Hell, my Parkinson’s symptoms are from this same med.

I’m losing weight now thanks to the pink salt trick. But I gained a lot of weight starting with the ice cream. I was eating it everyday like it was going to go out of style. It was just a crutch, because of my unhappiness with my life. Substitute food for emotional pain.

The hardship of excessive weight is compiled of views of being overweight. Much of society views overweight people as being lazy. Science backed, obesity is caused by many factors that some people don’t want to know about.

I’m not completely blaming society, but certain people don’t understand the hardships they put on us. We try eating right, exercise, and the new fad diet of the day, because we are seen as less than human beings.

With this President, struggles with mental health issues is a sign of weakness. I disagree, it’s a sign of strength with enduring all we struggle with. Fighting unforseen demons that hide in our minds.

They try to break us down, but some of us fight back and win. So, I intend to win this battle. I am winning this battle. I have a successful blog, and my brain is free from the restraints of mental illness.

The hardship is construed from the stigma of mental illness. It has lessened over the years, although the government is trying to regain it again. Not giving help to veterans who have mental illness, such as PTSD, is so cruel and heatbreaking.

I have PTSD, but for other reasons. So far, I am one of the lucky ones who still have Medicare, but that could change at any moment. Adventually, my meds will increase, and I won’t be able to afford them. That’s one of many hardships people face !

I learned at an early age that I wasn’t accepted by certain people, because I would back down from a fight. I wouldn’t defend myself. There are many individuals out there like me who hide in the corners.

Just within the last few months, I’ve learned to say “no.” Enough is enough! I’m not going to be like a ping-pong ball getting hit back and forth. The anxiety became less forthcoming, and the depression lifted.

It’s like the world is spinning in a loop where some people are caught in it and don’t know how to get out. So, the hardship, for different events, keeps happening, and they think that is all there is to life.

No! I got out of that loop, because I said no to people who I was either a punching bag for, or I was at my limits end. It takes a lot of courage to say no, but it’s one of the ways out. At least it was for me.

This is a big one, because of the government turning its head, and trying to undermine all that this country has worked on to lesson climate change. They claim it’s a “hoax.” They’re the hoax. “Coal and oil is the future.” That’s crap!

Meanwhile, climate change is reversing all that we have worked so hard and long to accomplish. The hardship, people in the near future won’t survive because of the green house effect.

So, how do we deal with that hardship? Fire all those in the government who voted for the big, bad bill before it’s to late. Midterms is the answer. Let them know that you don’t like what they’re doing.

Majority of my life I have struggled with finances, because of the bipolar. I’m not using that as an excuse, it’s just a fact. The anxiety started to get stronger and stronger over the years.

But, I overcame it, because I learned how to let go of feelings of inadequacy, of feeling like I was never good enough for anything. The hardship, I was buying products to surround me, which gave me a sense of belonging.

Much of it was music and clothes. Music helped me express myself even though I couldn’t. Buying clothes made them mine, and nobody could take them away from me like my dignity disappeared.

I had attachments towards things rather than people. A possession that wouldn’t make me feel inferior to everybody else. You just need to let go of objects, and trust yourself again.

Nowadays, with the money from Disability, I’ve learned to ration it, to pay my bills on time. Because of this, the anxiety has decreased significantly, and I feel I am back in the pilots seat once again.

“Happiness comes from struggle.” I believe that now, but years back, the happiness I struggled to find didn’t exist. Many people search for happiness for all the wrong reasons. Some of us think money is true happiness, but it can also bring hardships.

My happiness was always being happy. All those years I stared blankly out the window at life going on without me. I desparately wanted to be a part of that. Living in your own little world becomes very isolating and disconnected from life itself.

The hardship was intense, but I did learn to accept myself for who I am, not what other people think of me.

So, yes, happiness does come from struggle, struggle to free yourself from the chains wrapped around you holding you back. They seem real, but they can be broken. Then there is true happiness.

Second-generation immigrants often face unique struggles related to identify, cultural differences, and academic/careerpressures, stemming from the experiences of their parents and the expectations placed upon them as they navigate two cultures.

And what about the hardships of the immigrants today? Many of them are hard working people, they don’t deserve this. We were so accustomed to living the democracy life that many of us didn’t see this coming.

This has been brewing for many years, yet some of us believed this couldn’t happened here in America. The land of the free. Not so free anymore. Why does it have to blatantly happen in front of our eyes to believe it?

So, what’s the learning curve in this problem? We need to stand up to the “bullies,” and take our country back from the neandethrals who are trying to reverse us back to the past.

Overcoming struggles in life is like climbing over brick walls. It’s difficult at first, you have to summon all your strength to boost yourself up, but once you get over the first wall, all the others become a little easier.

I’m not saying that hardships are by any means easy, but they are learning curves to build your inner resilience to accomplishing that next wall, and the next, and the next. You have to push yourself to the max to become who you want to be.

Don’t let anyone or anything stop you, because you were born strong, and each wall makes you stronger and stronger. Hardships are there for you to learn and, grow as a person. Your individual traits will shine through you, don’t forget that.

Even when life seems dark, as they say, “there is always light at the end of the tunnel.” I saw that light, and grabbed onto it with both hands.

I know there is a lot going on with the country and the world right now, but you have to look for that light. That is your salvation. I wholeheartingly believe that this government will be stopped. You have to believe in order to get over this hardship.

And happiness is what you make of it. If you always believe in the doom and gloom, then that’s what you’re going to get. Believing in yourself sets you free from hopelessness and worhtlessness.

For me, my mental health struggles have lessened, because I believed in myself. I don’t care about the stigma about mental illness, I am who I am.

I’ve dealt through the struggles and became a better person, because I fought against those beliefs that I will always be disconnected from the world.

Not everything is easy in life. You have to fight for waht you want, including the so-called king of this country. He will not win, because we have the true power. We believe in the right to be free in a democracy.
