Negative Feelings in a Negative World: Does it Have to Be?

Negative feelings start from a negative mindset. Some of us have a bleak outlook of the future, because of all the turmoil going on. It’s easy to fall into that negative mindset, but we haven’t lost yet.

I never thought that I was ever going to make it over the wall in front of me to find happiness on the other side. I felt doomed to live in the existance of depression and anxiety.

But I always had that flicker of hope that I was going to make it over that damned wall…and I did. I had a positive mindset deep inside me that I never gave up on. So, I believe that we can win this war with our own government. Remember the flicker of hope.

A bleak outlook is what millions of citizens getting shoved off of Medicaid looks like. We’re going back to the Dark Ages where people were suppressed and not being able to voice their opinions.

Sadly, so far they are winning with the ICE raids. The color of your skin decides whether you should be sent to prison camps or kicked out of the country. We were so blind sided by it that it almost seems surreal.

A fascist country they are trying to make it. But we are many, and stronger than they think. We’ve proved that with our protests. We will not take this lying down. Our respect for this country of ours will never waver.

A positive mindset is powerful thoughts that can’t be destroyed by force. People who have this are not fearful of a challenge, and oppose radicals who see themselves as a king. This country is for the people, by the people, and will always remain that way.

Positive mindset gives you strength to keep pushing forward through the opposition. He is NOT my president, even though he holds that title. A president wouldn’t abuse his power by accepting bribes to gain more power.

Not having a positive mindset, doesn’t make you any less than a person. But having one gives you strength to get up in the morning and fight for your freedom. You’re fighting for your livelihood along with others.

To talk about pessimistic views, a lot of people probably are experiencing that right now. Increasing inflation, and loosing healthcare unfortunately is the first steps. I do believe it will get worse before it gets better.

Trump will take evey opportunity to make himself more powerful in this country. He can’t do it with other countries, so he has looked inward. He sees us as a week people who are totally dependent on the government…his government.

But, that doesn’t have to be. We need to keep fighting strong against authoritarianism. We are living in a world of disgust and disillusion of a parallel of repeating history.

Going backwards in time when women had no rights, and people nonwhite were descrimitated against. We have come so far, binding together to fight oligarchy, to quit now. Our voices must be heard all across the world. Our lives depend on it.

So, how do we change a negative mindset to a positive mindset? One way is to protest the second No Kings day October 18th. We have a voice, so lets use it. Let’s make this protest bigger than the last one.

We shouldn’t sit around feeling that there is nothing we can do. We can vote the haters out of Congress and vote for people who will be our voice, Also, we can push ICE out of our cities by escorting them out of our neighborhoods.

Negative to positive stems from action. We just can’t sit around waiting for something good to happen. We need to join fellow citizens in reclaiming our government and our lives.

A positive mindset shift is easier than you think. They can’t change our hope for a beautiful America once again. If I can beat my anxiety and depression with that glimmer of hope, than we have hope to take back our country.

It’s the people’s country, not one man’s country. He is feeling our power and getting weaker by the minute. A positive mindset is set on winning the war against us. We have to imagine our country as a peace country where diversity is welcomed.

I don’t know about you, but I want to see this country and the people in it come together and celebrate a reborn of our country. A new era where freedom is not taken for granted and we talk to our neighbors once again.

Meditation has helped me a great deal through hard times. It’s the one constant support that holds me together. Find a quiet place where no one will disturb you. Sit comfortably and clear your mind.

I listen to ambient music to help me relax. Then, I do slow breathing exercises. In throught the nose hold, and then release through the mouth. Once relaxed, I picture the future how I want to see it.

There is a very peaceful atmosphere about it. The sky is bright blue, and children are playing in their yards. You go back to childhood, because that is the innocence of us all. As adults, we succomb to worrying about mundane circumstances.

As a child, I feel free enjoying each day to the fullest even though I don’t think about that. We need to step into that role when we are an adult, otherwise we will be living in a world such as today. Innocence and hope are the keys to living in freedom.

Podcasts are really good ways to get rid of negative feelings, and to hear the truth and reason behind various topics.

When you hear “I can’t,” add “yet.” Reframe problems as experiments. Negative feelings only hold you back from freedom. If we always listened to our self-talk, we wouldn’t accomplish anything.

Also, turning your self-talk around to being positive self-talk is doable. Negative self-talk pops up when we are afraid of doing something. We find reasons not to do it, because we are unsure of what’s on the other side of that wall.

You can convince yourself that nothing will hurt you on the other side with a belief in your abilities to handle what’s on the other side. Don’t let fear stop you from freedom. Don’t let the rhetoric of MAGA keep you from believing in yourself.

Ruminating over whats on the other side of that wall only delays (or sometimes stops) us from accomplishing great heights. When we believe, stranger things have happened, like someone lifting up a car with super human strength.

So, set a 10-minute “worry window.” Then write it out, and move on. You have just acknowledged your fear, and have accepted it. Now it’s time for action. Negative feelings may still persist, but remember that flicker of hope in you. Use it wisely.

Negative times can bring on a whole lot of worries, but persistence in your goals can bring on your destiny. Your destiny is to fight for a country that has given you so much, but is being taken away by criminals. Please, don’t let them win!

Right now, it’s hard to stay positive in a negative world, because of the authoritarianism that is in front of us. We are fighting for our freedom and the Constitution that gave us that right to freedom.

Negative feelings in times like these can run rapid, but it doesn’t mean that it’s written in stone. People can rise up and speak their truth. I’ll admit, times seem like a stand still between protests and ICE agents still rounding up civilans and immigrants.

I believe the protests are working, because we refuse to see him as the almighty and that pisses him off. We won’t bow down to him. He represents the people, not the other way around.

Negative feelings can arise in a negative world, but that doesn’t mean we should give up. Hope and determination is still in our hearts (at least some of us). Even some of his own party is turning against him.

I can’t wait to see the defeated look on his face when we bring MAGA down. That’s thanks to the hope instilled in my heart. Truth always prevails in the end. If you don’t believe that, than you have no hope for your future.

I, and many others will make it over that wall. Will you try, or listen to your negative self-talk of what’s on the other side. If not, I’ll see you in a beatiful future on the other side.
