Natural Treatments For Anxiety

Dealing with anxiety can be stressful, but it is treatable. Many people with anxiety find relief with treatment. While some people benefit from taking medication, others find success with natural treatments for anxiety. Some of the natural treatments are: anxiety disorder self care, different coping mechanisms, rescue remedy anxiety and CBT.

If you have a thought that says “I think I have anxiety,” because of a lot of stress you’ve been experiencing, then you should try some natural treatments for the anxiety. Or, if you think “my anxiety is getting worse,” then you really need natural treatments for anxiety. Many people, however, don’t do anything for their anxiety . They experience it almost every day. Anxiety disorders such as generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, or phobias can interfere with normal daily activities, affecting their work, home, and personal lives. They differ from regular anxiety in that people feel an excessive amount of fear or anxiousness.

Natural remedies for anxiety are those that don’t involve conventional medications (medicine you get from a doctor or health professional). They include things such as herbs, aromatherapy, and performing certain actions that promote relaxation. Some people with anxiety use natural remedies alongside conventional treatments to find relief. Some natural treatments for anxiety such as:

It’s time to close the door on stigmatizing self-help and anxiety and open the door toward taking care of ourselves unapologetically. At any rate, there are many self-help options for anxiety. And if you’re reading this, you’ve already taken an empowering step toward taking care of yourself. To help you take it further, here are some self-help exercises for anxiety to consider that may guide you toward relief.

One of the most powerful things you can do for yourself when you’re anxious is to change your physical setting. If an email triggered your anxiety, consider stepping away from the computer. If an argument has your heart racing, try going into a different room. Maybe your head is spinning trying to solve a problem, it might help to do something else for a little while. Getting fresh air and stepping outdoors can do wonders. Of course, it’s not always an option to go outside or to step away for long, but consider giving yourself at least a 5-minute pause or change of scenery to reset yourself.

When you’re anxious, you feel everything. To help you regulate, try engaging your senses. At length, to help you find ease, Beachamp recommends dabbing lavender oil on your wrists, putting them up to your nose, and taking three breaths — inhaling through your nose and exhaling out of your mouth.

One more sensory exercise you could try is putting on calming music. I’m constantly listening to music 24/7 especially because of the anxiety (helps calm the nerves).

Whether you choose to dance it off or use yoga sequences for anxiety to flow it away, moving your body is a great self-treatment for anxiety. Anxiety takes up space in your head, and movement will help you get out of your head. Essentially, you’re taking the attention away from your mind and putting it into your body, which can help you reconnect and get grounded.

Contrarily, there are many types of talk therapy may be helpful for GAD. One common and effective talk therapy is cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). CBT can help you understand the relationship between your thoughts, your behaviors, and your symptoms. Often, CBT involves a set number of visits. During CBT you can learn how to:

  • Understand and gain control of distorted views of stressors, such as other people’s behavior or life events.
  • Recognize and replace panic-causing thoughts to help you feel more in control.
  • Manage stress and relax when symptoms occur.
  • Avoid thinking that minor problems will develop into terrible ones.

Rescue Remedy Anxiety is a combination of five flower essences that are commonly used as a natural remedy for anxiety and stress. Furthermore, the flower essences are prepared from wild plants using a traditional method developed by Dr. Edward Bach, a British physician and homeopath in the 1930s.

Therefore, the five flower essences included in Rescue Remedy are:

  1. Rock Rose – for calming and reducing panic and terror
  2. Impatiens – for reducing impatience and irritability
  3. Clematis – for improving focus and reducing daydreaming and distraction
  4. Star of Bethlehem – for reducing trauma and shock
  5. Cherry Plum – for reducing fear of losing control

Rescue Remedy Anxiety is available in several forms, including drops, sprays, and pastilles. It is often used in the form of drops added to water, taken orally, or added to food or drinks. It is claimed that Rescue Remedy Anxiety can be helpful in reducing the symptoms of anxiety and stress, such as restlessness, nervousness, and muscle tension.

There are different anxiety remedies out there. I just gave you some natural treatments for anxiety. Some individuals don’t like taking meds, which I completely understand. I prefer to do both. The combination of the two is what works for me. You just have to find out what works for you by experimenting with different treatments. Kind of like starting a med you’ve never taken before. You don’t know if it’s going to help or not.

I don’t know if overcoming anxiety is truthfully possible, although I have read about some people who have. I guess it’s possible! I’ve read where some individuals have just accepted their anxiety for what it was and are leading a more normal life. They recognize that the anxiety is there, but choose not to give into it. I usually give into it by popping a pill or trying natural treatments for my anxiety.

That’s all folks. I hope you’ve enjoyed the ride and want to come back and visit me again. If you don’t, that’s also fine. Until next time…
