Bracing for impact: strategies for an anxiety recession in 2024. I’m in the same boat as most everyone else-no savings, living from check to check. Although I’ve started learning about investing in crypto.
I’ve also started learning about investing in certain AI stocks. Like any of them, you have to be careful which ones you invest in.
But investing in crypto and liquidity pools is like a whole new exciting world on its own. I’m learning how to make passive income.
“If financial conditions tighten and consumers and businesses take fright, there could be a pullback in investment and consumer spending that could lead to a recession,” Gregory Daco, chief economist at EY-Parthenon noted. “The combination of all these factors can lead to the feared recession materializing.”

Build An Emergency Fund
Bracing for impact: strategies for an anxiety recession in 2024. Surely, I know, it’s hard to build an emergency fund when you have no money to begin with. Been there, done that. You need to find a side hustle or an additional source of income, like me.
On the anxiety side, it’s very scary not having anything to fall back on. Like I said, I’m in the same boat you’re in right now. I have about $40 left until September 3rd to my name because of bills.
Subsequently, I’m trying to find a house to rent and keep getting scammed. That’s why I have no money, plus the bills.
Reduce Debt
Specifically, if possible, try reducung your debt. Pay off those credit cards and only use them in emergency situations.
Likewise, your anxiety would go down if you at least tried paying off some of your debt. I’ve cut back on a lot of things to save some money. I’m not buying name brands anymore.
Since I know I have another, more lucrative way of money coming in, my anxiety has all, but mostly disappeared.
Diversify Investments

Bracing for impact: strategies for an anxiety recession in 2024. In short, I get messages through my email from Porter Stansbury about which stocks to buy and not to buy. I trust his judgement completely because he’s usually right.
Since trusting his judgements I have made some money to help with expenses. And I just started getting set-up to buy crypto, so I haven’t bought any yet.
Being proactive will help you with your anxiety about the future. Therefore, you won’t have to worry about when you get your next paycheck.
Reevaluate Your Budget
If you’re having trouble paying your bills, reevaluate your budget. In general, cut out things that are a luxury item. Only pay for essentials. You may have to do this several times.
It’s scary while you anxiously wait for something to break down and you don’t have the money to repair it.
In reality, anxiety is at an all time high because of the looming recession. Some experts say we’re going to have one, other’s say not. I believe it will happen.
With everything going on pointing to one, how can it not happen? Before I got into investing, my anxiety was very high most of the time.
Now, I know I have something that’s going to be there for me in the future.
Invest In Stable Sectors And Assets
Look up Porter Stansbury or his publication MarketBeat. Undoubtedly, he has predicted events that have happened over the last 30 years and most of it has come true.
Whereas, in the liqiuidity pools of crypto, you can make money as long as crypto is being traded. It doesn’t matter if it’s up or down. You get a portion of the transaction fee.
The only thing difficult about it is learning the terminology. It’s straight forward when to get in and when to get out.
You’ll have more of a peace of mind over your anxiety about the future. I’ve even cut back to almost nothing on how much meds I take for my anxiety.
Continue Investing And Avoid Panic Selling
Bracing for impact: strategies for an anxiety recession in 2024. When you invest, avoid panic selling if the stock market takes a dive. Same with crypto. Ride the waves and you will come out on the winning end on the other side.
For example, if the stock market drops significantly, resist the urge to sell off investments in a panic.
Historically, markets tend to recover over time and staying invested allows you to benefit from eventual upturns.
Consistent investing, such as through dollar-cost averaging, can help smooth out market volatility and build wealth over the long term.
Create Multiple Income Streams
Significantly, you can create as many income streams with crypto investing as you can afford. Same with stock investing if you do it right.
Once you get the money flowing in, hopefully the anxiety will disappear like mine has. Unquestionably, my anxiety was there partly because I was worried about not having enough money.
I subscribe to Porter Stansbury’s publication called MarketBeat for different articles about what to invest in. Usually he’s right on the money (pun intended).
Live Below Your Means

One good way to save money is to live below your means. Therefore, if you need something, don’t buy name brands. If it’s not necessary, don’t buy it. Put the money towards a bill.
Your mind will thank you for a little less stress. I had a full tank of gas last me a month and a half. I only drove when I had an appointment or to a close store.
Consequently, I know if you have a regular job where you have to drive to, this is impossible to do. Do some shopping around for gas to see who has the cheapest price.
Hence, don’t go anywhere unnecessarily to save on gas. Or if you have two cars, limit the use of at least one of the cars that has the worst gas mileage if it’s not electric.
Evaluate Housing Costs
Bracing for impact: strategies for an anxiety recession in 2024. In the meantime, don’t plan on moving anywhere for a while if you’re still able to afford the mortgage. I’m looking to rent a house, but they’re not cheap.
Either that or an apartment with a washer and dryer. In this situation, with inflation, housing is out of this world. Bad timing for me to move, but oh well.
In the same fashion, there is a lot of anxiety because people who can’t afford their mortgage anymore, are getting foreclosed on or trying to sell their house.
Many people are loosing their jobs. It’s just a total mess. I’m trying to be on the winning side of this with my investments.
Monitor Your Credit
Regularly checking your credit report and maintaining a good credit score are crucial financial habits.
On the whole, use credit monitoring services to stay informed about changes to your credit profile.
I keep watching my credit score going down as another bill goes to collection. And, there’s nothing I can do about it now.
Of course, a good credit score can help you secure better loan terms and interest rates, which is particularly important during a recession.
Review Insurance Coverage
I had health insurance through Marketplace, but the government took care of that and told me I couldn’t have it. So now, I don’t have any health insurance.
Probably like a lot of Americans. No, on the negative side, their taking it away from the Americans and giving it to the illegals in this country. That’s why I don’t have any.
You want to talk about anxiety. I have 2 major health issues and there is nothing I can do about them because I can’t afford a doctor or medicine.
So, if I die, you can thank the people in the government for that one. To enumerate, I can’t afford to pay $700 for health insurance.
Be Informed
Bracing for impact: strategies for an anxiety recession in 2024. To begin with, improve your understanding of personal finance and investment strategies by reading books, listening to podcasts, and visiting reputable financial websites.
The more information you understand, the more you’ll be able to apply to your situation. Kind of like me with Crypto and investing.
I knew nothing about them before, but I’m learning everyday and applying what I’ve learned. Sometimes you just need that little extra push or you’re deperate enough.
If you do a side hustle be aware of scammers. They’re everywhere, especially on the internet. I’ve been scammed a couple of times when looking to rent a house.
Improve Yourself

On one hand, invest in your skills through additional training, certifications, or education.
On the other hand, connecting with peers and staying informed about industry trends can increase your employability.
For instance, obtaining certifications in emerging technologies can make you more valuable to employers. Especially learning AI can really benefit yourself.
Or more valuable to yourself if you’re self employed, like me. Then again, you have to learn how to adapt to the times when they change.
If you don’t, you’re going to get left behind and someone else will get that new job.
Build Strong Relationships
Bracing for impact: strategies for an anxiety recession in 2024. To be sure, good relationships with other employees or with the boss can go a long way. You may get that promotion or just a good increase in pay.
Act as a team player within your company. The boss might see this and take note of it. That is to say, do as much as you can to stand out from the crowd.
Stay connected with professional contacts, join industry groups, and attend networking events. Also, stay connected with professional contacts, join industry groups, and attend networking events.
Then again, strong professional relationships can offer job leads, collaboration opportunities, and support during career transitions.
Consult A Financial Advisor
If you’re uncertain about your financial strategy, consulting with a certified financial advisor can provide clarity and guidance.
Therefore, these experts can help you develop a personalized financial plan that aligns with your goals and the current economic environment.
Regularly reviewing your financial plan with an advisor ensures it remains relevant and effective.
Sum It All Up
Bracing for impact: strategies for an anxiety recession in 2024.
Provided that, whether a recession happens or not, you can protect your financial well-being with careful planning and proactive strategies.
Building an emergency fund, reducing debt, diversifying investments, and maintaining a well-structured budget are essential steps to ensure financial stability.
To enumerate, remember, the key to weathering economic downturns lies in preparation and adaptability.
By staying informed, living below your means, and creating multiple income streams, you can build resilience against financial uncertainties.
Summing up, regularly reviewing your financial plans with a trusted advisor and making necessary adjustments will help you stay on track. Until next time…
