There are many uses for Cymbalta. Its generic name is duloxetine. Duloxetine belongs to a drug class called serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs). A drug class is a group of medications that work in a similar way.
Duloxetine comes as a capsule that you take by mouth. At length, it comes in three strengths such as Duloxetine dr 20mg, Duloxetine 30 mg, and finally, Duloxetine 60 mg.
Cymbalta may cause withdrawal symptoms if the drug is stopped suddenly. Basically, withdrawal symptoms are side effects that can occur when you stop taking a drug that your body has become dependent on. And with dependence, your body needs the drug to function as usual.

Cymbalta for Depression
In many uses for Cymbalta, it is primarily used for depression. Cymbalta is used for the treatment of major depressive disorder in adults and generalized anxiety disorder in adults and children over the age of seven.
Therefore, it has been proven that a once-a-day 60 mg dose of dulexotine can offer relief of anxiety symptoms in those with depression within 2-4 weeks.
Duloxetine has proven to be effective in the short- and long-term treatment of MDD. Particularly for treating the core emotional symptoms as well as the painful physical symptoms related to depression. The maximum dose of duloxetine for patients with MDD is 120 mg per day, with favorable responses in 97% of patients.
Cymbalta for Bipolar
Consequently, prescribing dulexotine is not typically a first-line treatment for bipolar disorder.
In some cases, using Cymbalta in combination with other medications, such as mood stabilizers or antipsychotics combinations can greatly improve the symptoms of the illness. This is to manage some of the symptoms of bipolar disorder, such as depression or anxiety. However, using this med is not for a standalone medication to treat bipolar disorder.
Equally, it’s important to note that people with bipolar disorder should not attempt to self-treat their symptoms with Cymbalta or any other medication.
Cymbalta for Migraines
One theory behind the possible effectiveness of Cymbalta for migraines is that the medication affects neurotransmitters, including serotonin and norepinephrine. They are implicated in the onset of migraines. The medication may help to reduce the intensity and frequency of migraines. However, the exact mechanism of action is not yet fully understood, and more research is necessary to understand the effectiveness of dulexotine for migraines.

It is essential to note that Cymbalta is not a cure for migraines, and it may not work for everyone. Additionally, the medication can have side effects and may not be suitable for everyone.
Cymbalta for Osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis is another type of chronic musculoskeletal pain.
Subsequently, it’s a condition where the protective tissue at the end of the bones, called cartilage, wears down.
This can cause joint pain and stiffness.
Osteoarthritis begins gradually and worsens over time.
Therefore, your doctor may prescribe Cymbalta to reduce the pain of osteoarthritis, but the medication will not treat osteoarthritis directly.
Duloxetine is a second-line agent for treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee that has not responded to acetaminophen or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It has also shown benefit as an add-on medication for people who have had a partial response to acetaminophen or NSAIDs.
Duloxetine is not used to treat inflammatory arthritis.
Cymbalta for Fibromyalgia
If you are tired, achy, irritable, and having trouble sleeping, you may be one of 4 million Americans suffering from fibromyalgia.
Emphatically, a chronic, lifelong illness that causes muscle pain and tenderness all over the body, fibromyalgia can also cause sleep problems and changes to mood and memory.
More research is needed to understand fibromyalgia in greater detail. Henceforth, many researchers believe that the cause of the pain is due to the nerve cells triggering too many pain signals.
Researchers think that Cymbalta helps calm down these pain signals by increasing the level of two naturally occurring substances called serotonin and norepinephrine. Even more, these substances, which are found in the brain and other parts of the nervous system, can affect mood and are believed to help control and suppress feelings of pain. Due to this, Cymbalta and other SNRIs block serotonin and norepinephrine from re-entering cells, and therefore increase the levels of these substances. Furthermore, this process is thought to improve mood and relieve pain in patients with fibromyalgia.
Conclusion
I am currently taking the Cymbalta generic med Duloxetine. Cymbalta is awesome! For me there are hardly any side effects and it’s working beautifully. I did notice that when I ran out of it a couple of times, the withdrawals started to settle in. It wasn’t pretty. So, try to keep up to date on all your meds so you don’t have to go through withdrawals with some of them.
Cymbalta is like a miracle drug because it helps so many ailments from managing pain to mental illnesses. This is the only med that I have found to have little or no side effects if used properly. As I have shown above, just make sure you have enough pills before your refills. I hope you have as much success in trying it as I have had.
Through the many uses of Cymbalta, it can be a helpful tool for managing depression and anxiety, but it is not without its risks. Hence, for some individuals, the side effects of Duloxetine can be severe and even life-altering, leading them to feel that it has “ruined their lives.”
That’s going to do it for me. It’s beautiful and sunny here (Chicago), so I’m going to go out and get a little peace time for myself. Until next time…
